Our Favorite Work Phone 2017
Choosing Your Smartphone
Your business needs a smartphone that can excel in the workplace and withstand the workload. Plus, having the ability to make things easier is never a bad thing.
Phone choice is often a hot-topic that boils down to personal preference. While many people have a certain phone they are dedicated to (like the Iphone or the Galaxy S-series), their main choice depends on which of the big 2 operating systems they prefer; Android or IOS?
Between the two, they control 99% of the smart-phone market. Android powers the majority of available smartphones on the market today. In fact, 87% of the market is running Android, running on many of the big-name phones by Samsung, LG, Motorola, HTC, and many others. At the top of the class sits Samsung’s Galaxy S-series phone, which has grown to become the rival of none other than the iPhone.
Android phones come in all shapes, sizes and brands. However, if you want a phone running IOS, there’s only one brand and a few different models to choose from. That brand, of course, is Apple and their flagship product, the iPhone. The iPhone and IOS take up 12% of the mobile market today, and used to control an even larger portion. 12% may not sound like much, but considering it’s accomplished offering only one phone and a limited amount of models, it is still quite pretty amazing.
Mobile Remains The Future
Mobile has taken over the way we use the web. According to Google, more than 50% of searches globally are from a mobile device, and experts agree that mobile is still the future.
It’s nearly unheard of for someone to not own a cell phone these days. Our phones have become a part of our everyday lives. For some people, their phone is simply their communication tool necessary for their job, or even simply chatting with their significant other throughout the day. Some of us are infatuated with several social media platforms or addicting games; but many people now rely heavily on the technology within their phones to survive each day.

The Best Business Phone Available…
Google’s Pixel 2
- Retail Price: 5″ Starting @ $649 | 6″ XL Starting @ $849
- Monthly Payments: Pixel 2 5″ : $27.04/mo for 24 months
Google is undeniably amazing when it comes to technology & innovation. As a company, they continuously push the limits and take strides to make our dreams of the future, a reality. That’s why I wasn’t surprised at how great the Pixel 2 was.
The first Google Pixel was lightyears ahead of every other smartphone available when it came to it’s camera. Pixel 2 continues to carry the torch, receiving a score of 98 from DxOMark, which is the highest score of any smartphone camera ever. However, the Pixel 2 brings so much more to the table along with their record setting camera.
I mentioned earlier some of the key features that a business phone must have, such as…
- Battery Life: Up to 7 hours of battery life on just 15 minutes of charging
- Durability: Water-resistant metal unibody
- Speed: Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 835 processor
- Storage: 64GB & 128GB w/ 4GB RAM
Google’s latest phone is built strong & tough with it’s metal body design and water resistance. With a battery that stands up to the tests, like many Androids of the past. The difference is that this one charges much quicker and stays charged longer. Operating with Android 8.0- Oreo, this system is lightning quick with the Snapdragon 835 processor within and a 4GB RAM inside of a mobile phone! The best part is, the Pixel’s strong design and high performance is not effected by security risks or storage limitations. Available with either 64GB or 128GB of phone storage (as opposed to the iPhone 8, 16, or 32GB), you’ll have plenty of space for your business & personal items!
Of course, when it comes to a smartphone being capable to help with your specific industry, a tailored application is usually necessary. Whichever software your business uses, you can almost be certain you will be able to find it in the Google Play Store; along with many other useful tools.
The Secret Weapon
The most amazing feature on the Pixel 2 is the pair of Google Lens & Google Assistant. the phones Artificial Intelligence. Deep Mind (Google’s AI Research Lab) has been breaking barriers and pushing the limits of Artificial Intelligence for the past few years. So it’s no surprise that their newest smartphone would incorporate an incredible program like Google Lens/Google Assistant.
Google Lens uses AI machine learning to allow users to interact with the world around them and automatically access Google Assistant within the context of the image currently being viewed. Basically, connecting your new AI assistant to your camera(Google Lens) and then allowing it to interpret the captured images. The AI assistant will then provide information, links, and whatever else may be useful for you in the particular situation.
For example, let’s say you view a flyer for an upcoming event with Google Lens, now your Google Assistant steps in to bring up information about that particular event and even offer useful links where you can purchase tickets, book transportation or a hotel, and etc. . Once you’re done your assistant then adds it to your Google calendar for you.
Although this is a brand new, untested technology, the app’s potential is like nothing we have ever seen before. Opening new possibilities and opportunities for businesses of all trades and sizes.
2017 In Review
2017 has been a big year for smartphones and the new releases this Fall have looked promising. Samsung’s Galaxy S8 has dominated 2017 , but the tech-giant Apple believe that their iPhone X will change the smartphone landscape. Meanwhile, Google had been planning on changing the game themselves, and have done just that for the moment.
Google’s Pixel 2 is an amazing mobile device, unmatched as of this moment. When it comes to the workforce and the needs of an everyday business, this phone stands up to the challenge without a problem. As great as the Galaxy s8 is, they now have alot of work to do to catch up to these huge advances in tech that Google has unleashed. The iPhone will soon stand up to the challenge with the release of iPhone X, and then we can compare these phones side by side. Until then, we recommend you get the Pixel 2 for your business!
